Kenneth A. Switzer

Ken received both his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in education from the University of Northern Colorado. He later earned masters and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Denver. He also holds Spanish language certification from Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia.

At DLS Group, Ken specializes in online learning systems and electronic performance support systems (EPSS) as well as working with traditional learner self-paced paper-based training, and instructor-led courses. Most recently, he designed call center training modules and PowerPoint presentations for MediaOne (now AT&T Broadband).

Before joining DLS, Ken worked in a wide variety of training environments in the government, military, private, and non-profit sectors. At the Frontline Group Technology Center, Ken helped develop online learning modules and accompanying support systems for skills training in management, supervisory, and sales areas. Ken also designed job task analysis and job competency modeling workshops and materials at Technology Training Systems, as well as doing technical writing and training materials for chemical and oil companies.

At International Learning Systems, Ken developed instructor-led courses, CBT, and learner self-paced materials for a variety of clients in the banking, engineering, pharmaceutical, and telecommunications industries. His experience also includes work for the U.S. Navy and various state government agencies. Prior to his work with adult learners, Ken was involved in developing curricula materials for secondary education and developing and delivering training to secondary teachers. He was also a secondary-level teacher in Colorado and Colombia, South America.

Ken is active in the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) and the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD). He has given presentations at professional conferences and has written various journal articles. Ken is still active in the field of secondary education. His textbook, American Government: Principles and Practices, is in its fourth edition from Glencoe/McGraw-Hill.

In his spare time, Ken enjoys hiking and skiing in the Colorado mountains and international travel. Ken also writes articles and develops games for various children's magazines and journals specializing in foreign adoption.
