Stone Cheryl Watters As an on-site Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) position at the National Geospatial-Intelligence School, Cheryl supports the curriculum development and modernization team for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) by applying her knowledge of adult education theories, methods, techniques, computer-assisted learning technology, as well as Instructional Systems Design (ISD) and Systems Approach to Training (SAT) methodologies. As an off-site DLS employee, Cheryl is in the midst of a comprehensive curriculum review of training provided to a variety of internal NGA employees, uniformed domestic and foreign military, civilian Department of Defense and intelligence professionals, and representatives of other U.S. federal government agencies. For this assignment, Cheryl reviews course materials and, as needed, revises and reorganizes them to instill a more solid instructional approach and consistency across instructors. Cheryl boasts a wealth of intelligence domain knowledge, which she gained while serving as a Linguistics Training Manager and Intelligence Systems Operator in Anchorage, Alaska. There, she created training plans, instructor materials and student guides for over 120 personnel in six different occupational specialties, with subject matter ranging from very basic to highly technical. Examples of Cheryl's design, development, implementation, and curriculum work include a step-by-step guide to help instructors train new linguists to become certified operators. She also wrote the tests and evaluation processes to ensure they matched the objectives in the training plans. Cheryl also worked with several certified linguists and subject matter experts to review training plans for applicability to changing mission requirements. In her spare time, Cheryl enjoys golfing, watching baseball and college football (Go Buckeyes!), eating, making her co-workers laugh, idolizing Deborah Stone, and pursuing her bachelor's degree. Her sense of humor, can-do attitude, and sparkling personality are enjoyed by everyone at DLS. |
